Why I am losing my mind ... *Edited

I took both children to the grocery store on a Saturday.

Sam hid my shoes from me.

Sophie has been pretending to read out loud in Russian.

Both children have been singing very loudly the opening line from The Lion King.

They were playing firefighters rescue the Grinch from his castle. And Sophie was the firefighter and Sam was the Grinch.

Sophie has asked me 95 times to paint her toenails.

Sam has decided that climbing to the top shelf to retrieve my paper cutter is a good idea.

Sophie is too old to sing Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer.

I have to make 5 dozen cookies this week, fluff 5 sets of pom poms (*each one is taking me about 30 minutes), construct about 12 gingerbread houses, make crafts with Sam's class, attend Sam's preschool Christmas program, finish Christmas shopping, and wrap presents.

I realize that pretty much everyone has all this to do and more. However I am certain they handle it with much more grace than I do.

And so now you see why I have very little sanity left.

we are not handling it with any more grace than you - I promise. This week and then the time that they are off from school before Christmas are always the toughest for me. Getting stuff done while they still have school is key. And then focusing on the reason for Christmas (on one hand) and the things that you remember as being your favorites and sharing them with your kids helps.

The reading out loud in Russian CRACKED me up right off the start! Seriously...I just about spit my Diet Coke out! I got a mental image of her doing this...VERY LOUDLY for some reason!

And I have never even constructed ONE gingerbread house. I have always wanted to but I fear I will be a failure!

GOOD LUCK!!!
