Martin Luther King Jr.

I am embarrassed to admit this but up until a few years ago I never really knew what was in Martin Luther King Jr.'s I Have a Dream Speech. Of course I knew the gist of it. And I knew the importance of it.

Several years ago I read it (with chill bumps on my arms) for the first time to my class of third graders. In that moment I looked up at my students and saw their faces through different eyes. I realized how far we had come but how far we had to go.

I still get chills when I read lines from that speech. It is even more powerful to hear it from that great civil rights leader himself. So this Martin Luther King Jr. Day I leave you this link so that you can read or hear for yourself these powerful words.
