I made my first Thanksgiving meal. It turned out really well if I do say so myself! I just bought a small turkey breast and I cooked it in a slow cooker. It was really yummy. And easy! I made my mom's dressing. It was good but not as good as Mom's. We don't really like pumpkin pie so I made a white chocolate pumpkin cheesecake. That was a huge hit with 3 of us! Sophie loved it. Sam thought it was just ok. Good thing I made magic cookie squares just in case the cheesecake did not turn out. We ate in our dining room (which we rarely do) and Sam said it was just like the real Thanksgiving with pilgrims and indians. The next morning he even said that he was glad we had that feast!
On Friday Sophie and I went roller skating with friends. Sophie was a little apprehensive at first but then she loved it!! I think we will definitely being going again. That night we watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas. One of our family favorites.
Saturday we went to the farmer's market and picked out a Christmas tree! The house smells so good now. We thought our tree shopping trip was going to be postponed because Sam put a bead in his nose!! Needless to say I was scared and so was Sam. He cried and cried. Fortunately we were able to get it out without going to the ER. So tree shopping was on!!
This morning I made monkey bread for breakfast. Now we are just cleaning up so we can decorate the tree later. Sophie and Sam are very excited. I love this time of year and it especially wonderful because of my two sweet blessings!!!
Now onto Christmas!!!
