Do you remember when Sophie reacted to costumed characters like this?
Just in case you have forgotten or you are a newer reader this was Sophie's reaction to Santa. He was not even close to her - he was across a courtyard. And it is not just Santa. She has been afraid of the Easter Bunny, Chuck E. Cheese, and Red Robin.
Well Sophie has been lobbying for us to take her to Disney. We told her we would not take her as long as she was scared of costumed characters. She has been telling us for a while that she won't be afraid anymore. We were a little bit skeptical.

This was last weekend at my alma mater, Tennessee Tech, with Awesome Eagle. She and Sam could not get enough of this bird. She kept begging to hug her again. I think she was really trying drive her point home. She is NOT afraid anymore.

Proud of her. I am still standing by the Cramer family rule that if the kids are not OLD enough to appreciate the EFFORT put into Disney. Wait until she can say "Wow, Mom, this cost you half a million dollars and seventeen gray hairs. Thank you SO MUCH."
My boys have always been scared of costumed characters up close. If they could view them from a distance, they were fine. It looks like you may be in route to Disney!!!
Cute photo! We LOVE Disney and head to Orlando *at least* once a year. Be sure to let me know before you go so I can send you my "How to do Disney with little kids" planner that we have developed over the years. I can just see Sophie with all the princesses and little Sam with Stitch!
She definitely does NOT look scared! :) I live in Orlando...come in November or January - not so hot and waaaay less crowded at the parks!
We are headed to disney in Oct. with the P family...take her ASAP! You will not regret it!!!
Too funny. Our rule was that Sara had to be able to walk at least most of the time in Disney and be able to survive without a nap. Mission accomplished.
Interestingly, it was Wyatt that was deathly afraid of anyone in a costume. He still doesn't trust Chuck E. Cheese, but at least he doesn't run screaming any more.
