One of our family tradtions is to bake cookies for Santa. We get so excited about this. In the past I have just gotten the precut cookies but this year I got very ambitious. I used actual cookie cutters!! My cookies were larger than they should have been but Sophie enjoyed icing them and putting on sprinkles. Santa seemed to like them since there were only crumbs left the next morning.
A new tradition that we started this year was leaving out food for Santa's reindeer. Luckily it was a warm December night since Sophie went out in her gown.
Christmas morning was not as exciting as we had expected. Here is a little backstory. Starting the day after Halloween Sophie has talked about nothing but mermaids especially the Dora mermaid. That is all she wanted - all she talked about. So we just expected her to go crazy we she saw it under the tree. However she just stood there - I think she was shell shocked. After a few minutes she finally walked over to the tree and started looking at her gifts. She went to the Dora mermaid after we asked her if that was what she wanted. At the end of the day I asked her what her favorite present was and she said her Dora mermaid. I really think she was so excited she just did not know how to react.
My favorite gifts that Sophie received were this cute raincoat with matching rainboots. She also loves them and she got to wear them today as it has rained all day!
My husband says I "talk" too much when I post. I don't know why he is surprised by this. I talk all the time - I always have. I actually thought this post would not be too long - oh well.
I will leave you with one more of our favorite gifts this year. We got Sophie a game called Hullabaloo (I think I spelled it correctly). It is so fun. She can play it alone but we have played with her and I really enjoy it.

I'm glad you guys are back in town and had a wonderful holiday! Great pictures...how do you get Sophie to smile all the time?? (I'm so jealous) ;)
