Move over Paula Deen

I made turkey wraps for lunch today. They were pretty good but that is not what this post is about. It is about the conversation Sophie and I had while we were all eating.

Sophie: Mommy can I take mine apart.

Me: Sure. (I was thinking I don't care as long as you eat it).

Sophie: So you unroll the wrap and put the turkey on in strips. This is the way my grandmother used to do it.

Me: What? your grandmother?

Sophie: My imaginary grandmother. After you put the turkey on you... Mom can I put chips on this?

Me: Sure.

Sophie: Then you put chips on and you just roll it up.

Me: Sophie, are you pretending to be on a cooking show?

Sophie: Yes, but Sam doesn't know about cooking shows.

So while her recipe was not an original or anything (apparently from her imaginary grandmother) I still think she might be ready for Food Network. What do you think?

That is just too cute for words. I think I wouldn't mind having Paula Deen for a grandmother though--you know holidays would be DELISH!

That is great. My guy loves helping in the kitchen too and experimenting when we let him get away with it. Usually - it is when I am not home - like Thursday night. I came home and it was as if every utensil and bowl was used in the kitchen. I asked Daddy about it later and he said it was of course inedible. We went to a local privately owned kitchen store the other day and they had a kids cooking camp going on that he was excited about. Maybe we could find a class for them to do together!

That is PRECIOUS! You totally need to write Paula Deen about that! I love her too, Sophie!

Well she is 10,000 times cuter than anyone else they've got! I'd say she's a shoo-in! :)

That turkey wrap sounds good, but to make it an authentic Paula Deen turkey wrap, she'll need to add a stick of butter! Mmmmmmm.
