Sam's First Movie

Today I took Sophie and Sam to the movies. Regal Cinemas does free kids movies in the summer. Today was the Bee Movie. We went with our friends Amanda, Griffin, and Gray. I have to tell you that I was so apprehensive about taking Sam to the movies that I almost did not go. He is just a bundle of energy and is always in motion. So you can imagine how unsure I was about how he would be for a full length movie. He doesn't even watch TV. I waited until this morning to tell Sophie that we were going and her response was, "what are we going to do with Sam." I told her we would work it out. And work it out we did. Sam was wonderful!!! He sat in my lap for about 45 minutes. I was feeding him crackers but still. After that he did get up and check out the steps and the our row of 4 seats but then he got back in my lap and finished watching the movie and I did not have crackers at this point. Which was great because I had visions of him running up the steps and having to remove him from the theater kicking and screaming. Fortunately that did not happen. They both did great and really enjoyed the movie.

I am so jealous- Alex was probably 4 before he would sit still for a movie! Can't wait to see you on Saturday! The kids are excited too!

Way to go Sam! I'm jealous, I would love to go to the movies again. I wonder if Artem would sit through Sex and the City? ha ha

When my kids were really little, I would take their car seat into the movie theater and strap them into it. It raised them up high enough to see and they were strapped in, so they knew they had to stay seated. A friend gave me the idea. Of course, I also kept the snacks and popcorn flowing!

Iam an aquaintance of the Morgans. We met them along with 3 other couples in Yekaterinburg just 2 weeks ago as we made our first adoption trip where we met our little boy to be, Colby. It is great to see such a happy family on your blog. I look forward to having those same memories, and fears too, in the future. We hope to return around Christmas. I am not sure how I can wait so long though.
