Ok I have to tell you that Sam has been driving me CRAZY for the last couple of days. He has cried about EVERYTHING. The kind of crying he was doing when he first came home. You know throwing himself down on the floor and wailing completely inconsolable crying. I can't be sure what the issue was - teeth, sleep patterns changing, growing - but whatever was going on was like 100% better today. My sweet little Sam returned. And was I ever glad to see him. I think Sophie was too. It was kind of like there was a full moon maybe there was who knows. But whatever the case both my children (and their mother) have been far from perfect in recent days.
My point is to tell you how incredibly precious both my children were tonight. Sam is such a cuddler during the day but when it comes to bedtime he is all about story, song, bed. He even points to his bed and lets me know he is ready for sleep and most nights he falls asleep without any fuss. I have tried so hard to get him to let me rock him to sleep but he wants to fall asleep in his bed which I know is really better. Well tonight that sweet little baby turned himself around and let me rock him. Yeah! Then when I put him to bed he stood and puckered up for a few more kisses. Ah that sweet crazy boy!
Then Sophie, who informed me this week that she wanted to be a rock star when she grows up, cuddled with me until she fell asleep tonight.
I have to say today was a great day.

That is perfect. It's what we always picture in our heads when we think about being parents.
Hoping your week continues to go well.

Aww...It is those sweet moments that make us forget all the bad ones! I love cuddle time with my boys!
Hi Carrie,
I haven't seen your blog before so I'm happy to have found it through your comment, thanks!
I pretty much skimmed your entire blog, was curious about your long wait for Sam, and also so impressed with your great attitude during the wait. In our case I found the wait to be excrutiating and it was no where near as long as yours.
Anyway, its also nice to "meet" another mom in the area.
I'll be sure to check in regularly.
You have a beautiful family!
Don't you just love it when they let you rock them to sleep? W is the same way...he wants to fall asleep on his own but every once in a while he lets me rock him and I so treasure that time. :)
