Not much has been going on around here lately. We are just getting settled into our new fall routines.
Sophie and Sam are LOVING school. Sophie had a birthday party this week in her class. She has made at least one new friend however she never remembers the little girl's name. She just refers to her as her friend.
Sophie has also been coming up with some interesting questions about heaven. She asked me if we could go to heaven sometime and if they have a playground there. I thought that was about sweet.
We had a post placement visit for Sam this week. It went very well. Scott and I were so very pleased to share Sam's progress with our social worker. We told her that he when he first came home he was so frustrated and unhappy. He also frequently threw tantrums that lasted a long time. He is now a happy kid who laughs, dances, plays, sings, and give hugs and kisses. And for those tantrums well I see one every now and then but for the most part they are very minor. He really has come so far.
Both children started gymnastics last week and are doing great. Sophie just can't wait to get there. Her favorite part is when she gets to do the bars. Sam and I take a class together and he is having so much fun. She smiles and laughs the whole time. He probably enjoys the parachute games the most.
As for me I have fallen twice. Really how clumsy can I be? The first time I slipped on water at church. The second time I tripped leaving a restaurant. I was carrying Sam which is probably why I was unable to catch my balance. All I kept thinking as I was going down was how can I keep from his head hitting the pavement. Luckily I am the only one that was injured. My knee took the brunt of the fall. Let me just say that it is not looking too pretty.
Now that I have some time at home while both children are at school I have been cleaning like crazy - not that you could tell if you stopped by for a visit.

So glad y'all are doing well. Sam is such a cutie and I swear they look like they're your biological children. God is so good. What a blessing they are-they are so cute and it looks like you guys are having so much fun as a family of four. :0)
Thanks for the update! It is amazing what love and nourishment those for these kiddos.
We start gymnastics next month, can't wait!
Gymnastics is a great activity! Last year 3 yr old Liam was doing forward rolls on the soccer field ...while the other kids were actually kicking the ball. Sigh. We had one teacher that showed the boys how to do head stands by kicking up against the wall. So in addition to all their hand prints, we got to clean little foot prints off the walls too!
I can't believe its time for Sam's post placement report already. Time is flying (unless you happen to be waiting for a courtdate). Keep having fun with your beautiful kids!

Girl you've gotta take it easy. You know we aren't as young as we used to be. I'll be sure and send you a walker for your next birthday. Of course, that's after I trade in mine...aren't I sweet to share?!
It sounds like things are going very well with Sophie and Sam. I bet the gymnastics classes are so fun for both of them!
I hope you are doing better after your falls. Ouch!
