In the Past

Around Thanksgiving Sophie learned about the past in school. You know things like we travel by cars or airplanes and in the past people traveled in wagons or we call friends on the phone and in the past people corresponded by writing letters. She really enjoys learning about the past and often asks questions about my childhood. It is quite entertaining to see how her mind works.

The other day we were at a store and happened upon the aisle that had sewing machines. Let me just say that when it comes to sewing I am very domestically challenged. Like can't sew a button on. And I took Home Ec. in high school. Anyway when Sophie saw the sewing machines she said, "I did not know they still had these. I thought they were just in the past!"

As in we buy clothes at the store and people in the past made their own clothes.

At least she knew what the sewing machines were! That's something I guess!!
