Getting excited!!

I just thought I would give you a little more insight into my daughter's mind and her excitement about the upcoming arrival of her brother.

The other day as we were driving home from preschool she said, "Let's think of all the things Baby Sam can't get into." Like this is a game to play. I was curious so I asked her to go first. Her answer was, "Sam can't open the door but if he does I will hold his hand." OK.

Later that same day she was reciting the Star light star bright I wish I may I wish I might poem and her wishes were to have an Ariel (mermaid) doll, to have hair like Ariel, and for Baby Sam to be home soon. Which she followed up with, "Amen!"

The other day she was playing on the phone and said she was talking to Baby Sam's caregivers. I couldn't understand what she was saying. She played for a few more minutes then handed me the phone and said, "Mama, the Russians want to talk to you." That cracked me up.

And she says about every day, "It is taking FOREVER for Baby Sam to come home."

Which it does seem like it is taking forever.

Sophie can't wait to have a permanent playmate. She says, "Baby Sam will be wild." I am not sure where she came up with that.

Please remember us (including Sam) in your thoughts and prayers. I have been very calm during this wait. However now that I know we are approaching the end I am becoming more anxious.

I have said it before and I will say it again - I am thrilled that God chose adoption for my family.

Hi Carrie,
Thanks so much for the comments on my blog. I really appreciate the kind words. I've gotten behind in my blog reading with trying to settle in with Haylie, so I just got caught up with yours. Happy Birthday--wish I was ONLY 35--I have to round up a lot higher than you!! Hopefully you wont have to wait toooo much longer for Sam to come home. Good luck.

We're looking forward to meeting Sam and sharing your joy! I hope the call comes even sooner than you expect. Your family stays in our prayers that your wait will soon be over. Good luck and God bless!

As I read this, I am amazed at how similar it is to my experience with Alex...in fact, it was the exact time of year. We had a six month wait, all through the holidays. We FINALLY traveled at the end of Feb., and we were in court Feb. 29th (yep, a leap year). We brought home our little toddler boy in early March. Your timeline is almost identical.

I am praying that your court date is just around the corner and Sam will be home soon! I can't wait to read posts about Sam and Sophie together!!!

Hugs,
Kerry

Hi Carrie,
I don't know if you remember me or not, but I've seen you at M&M at church a few times...anyway, I'm SO excited to hear that your wait is almost over. When I last saw you (probably late last spring) I don't think you had any idea when you'd get Sam. It's wonderful to read the update on your blog!!! You all are in our thoughts and prayers. Hope to see you again soon! Jenny

Hi Jared's,
Hope you had a great Valentine's Day! We've had you in our prayers. And miss you dearly, Kai said to tell Sophie Hi! She has grown so much since the last time you were in Lebanon. I'm not very computer savy, so I hope you get this.
Take care,
Courtney

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Your daughter is beautiful. Congratulations on the upcoming adoption of your son! Were either of your children born in Moscow?
