What's in your Pantry?

I attend a mom's club on Wednesdays at church. We usually have a guest speaker as was the case today. She was a nutritionist. Which means - you guessed it - she talked about healthy eating for us and most especially our children. Oh did I mention I was in charge of refreshments today? Which means lots of fat, grease, and sugar. Let's see I provided store bought frozen preservative laden sausage balls. YUM! I am certain these are worse for you than had I made sausage balls from scratch. I also bought bagels and cream cheese. The one redeeming item was grapes.

When I signed up to provide refreshments today I had no idea that someone who cared about what they ate would be speaking. That is probably a good thing. I would not even no where to start when it comes to preparing something healthy. Remember I worry more about what my child wears than what she eats.

Speaking of what Sophie wears I decided to go with her regular school clothes for pictures today. She wore a cute brown shirt with pink flowers. She wore pig tails in her hair with little pink bows. She looked super sweet and she said she happily smiled for the photographer.

Sorry no picture for the blog. I know you are saddened by this news. In the mad dash to get all of the unhealthy food out the door and to get Sophie to school on time I did not get an opportunity to snap one.

On a completely unrelated note do you remember a few weeks ago when I posted about my blogging addiction? It seems that it is the only way I communicate with my husband now - who has joined me in the blogging addiction. The other night he checked my blog when he got home and looked at me and said, "I have to read your blog to find out what is happening with my daughter." You see I had not told him about school pictures. Then yesterday I told him he needed to read Clemsongirl's blog because she had a good funny story about the south. He informed me he already had.

I know I am feeling guilty about what I put in my kids too. But I did love the sausage balls today.

Snacks for the surprise nutritionist - eek! That seems like a cruel joke.

I was eating licorice and wishing it was chocolate and reading your blog - seriously? Do you HAVE to post about eating healthy while I want CHOCOLATE? Do you HATE me????

HI! Thank you so much for your comment on my blog. We are so blessed to have our sweet Owen.

I actually just clicked on your blog a minute ago through my friend Brandy's! Your little girl is precious, and I am so excited for you to bring your son home too. I know you must be aching to return to him!

Oh, my pantry...I always keep a bag of chocolate chips in there for when I have a chocolate craving! What kind of snacks do you prepare for a nutritionist? Fruit and veggies only? Maybe it's better you didn't know... :)

PS I LOVE sausage balls!

Thank you for posting on my blog! Your little Sophie is a doll! I'm waiting for my sweet princess, too, from the Kemerovo region.

Yes, my son was adopted from Novok BH #2 (Sep 2004). It has been a long wait for my baby girl.

I do have some questions for you about your adoption process & agency. If you like, please drop me a line sometime. novokbb2@yahoo.com

I would like to put a link to your blog from my blog, but I usually ask for permission first. Just let me know if that would be ok.

Congratulations on your precious son. I hope your court date is very soon!

Thanks.

Okay, that's hilarious...I totally should have come today. I need to revamp our pantry...and fridge...and secret candy stash. Hmmmm, probably should get off my lazy bum and do that instead of reading blogs this afternoon! Ha!

Hey guys! I'm so glad you found us! I started reading your blog tonight and I am already amazed at our "parallel lives". We too were told that there was a "computer glitch". (Seriously, exact wording)

We thought they were full of it! Maybe there really was a computer glitch. Oh well. No matter! We're done with the wait! Now let's just hurry up and get a court date.
