American Idol

I cannot believe this is the first time I have blogged about American Idol. Especially when you consider the fact that I went to the first season Idols concert. No, I was not the oldest person there. My sisters and I had 11th row seats and it was great. It was right after our failed IVF and I REALLY needed a fun night and American Idol was just the ticket. I have thought about blogging about Idol many times. I even started a post several weeks ago about Jason Castro but my internet went down just as I was about to hit publish. I really wanted to know WHY he was still in the competition. He seemed very nice but PA-LEASE he just was not one of the better ones. Now I know I am nowhere near a real music critic but I know what I like and he was just not it. Early on both Scott and myself loved David Archuleta. He had us when he sang Imagine. Others have totally grown on us including tonight's cast off, Syesha. Wow, she can sing and how cute is she. That is one of my observations of this year's contestants. They have all been good. So tonight we say good-bye to Syesha and look forward to next week. Next week the Davids compete. Really, how can one chose between these 2? The are both GREAT. They are different but wonderful in their genre of music. I am completely torn. David A. is so good and such a cutie. I am with Paula, you just want to hang him from your rear view mirror. David C. is great too, and if you know me, you know I can't help but love a rocker. And don't even get me started on how cute he is.

Scott made a great analogy between sports (0f course) and American Idol. Comparing the Davids is like comparing the best NFL player (Peyton Manning - I added this part) to the best player in the Major League Baseball. They are both great in their sports.

Anyway, I think this year's contestants were really good even if the ratings were down. So next Tuesday and Wednesday you know where I will be - on my couch watching American Idol. I may even vote - it wouldn't be the first time.

I totally agree! I am completely torn... but I believe I will root for David A. because I think he kinda has it rough at home. David C. will do great anyway! He will be like Daughtry! I will be watching too! I love this show!

I'm rooting for David Cook. He's easy on the eyes and I would definitely be interested in buying a CD from him. David A. is cute and talented but not quite my type. Gee...I think I may be judging on hotness rather than singing ability....oh well I still vote for David C.
