This weekend 2 of my sisters and my parents plus 1 brother-in-law came to visit.
On Saturday (after the haircut) some of us did the touristy thing and went sightseeing. Scott and Sam did not join us because our little adventure was during naptime. Anyway, it was a chilly day, but we had a nice time. Well, all except for Sophie. I think she was bored with all the history stuff, but I learned a lot about my new town.
On Mother's Day Sophie and Sam gave Grammy her presents. We made pictures with their handprints. Sophie did a butterfly and Sam did a frog.
But the real highlight of the day was Sophie's ballet recital, and let me tell you, she was so excited. She has asked every week (since November when the costumes were ordered), "When is my ballet recital going to be?"
Her class danced to a song by Cookie Monster. In the song he has lost his cookie at the disco.
I have to admit I have been anticipating the recital almost as much as Sophie. Every week I would watch the girls practice, and it was so cute. I just couldn't wait to see them in their costumes up on that stage.
Seeing my angel on that stage smiling from ear to ear, doing nearly everything opposite of the other girls (remember she's a lefty) was the best mother's day present.
And seeing Sam smile and reach for me when I walk into the room, well, it just does not get any better than this.
I hope all the moms out there had a wonderful day. And for those of you still waiting for your angels your day WILL come and it WILL be more than your heart could ever have imagined.

This is such a sweet post...Happy Belated Mother's Day!
Awwwww, Happy Mother's Day, Carrie!!! It sounded wonderful! We are axiously awaiting Karoline's first recital in June! That costume was just too adorable, not to mention the girl wearing it! I'm glad you had a great day!
Love all the pics - especially the Sophie "stayin' alive" one! :) Glad you guys had a great weekend!
Happy Mother's Day Carrie. I know this one is very special for you.
Loved the pictures of Sophie. We're planning to start Sara in dance in the Fall. She's been pressuring us big time since Christmas so we are finally releting. I can't wait to see her all dressed up for dance class and recitals.
Take care and tell Scott I said "hi".
