Our Last Day in Moscow

Well it is hard to believe but we are packing to leave. We went to the US Embassy today and got Sam's visa. That process went smoothly. Then we had our translator take us to Red Square to get a few pictures. After that we came back to our apartment and fed Sam and then back out for a little shopping. Now we are back at the apartment. Sam is asleep and we are wrapping everything up. Our driver will be to get us at 4am to head to the airport. I don't think we will even go to sleep because we are afraid we won't wake up - meaning of course Scott won't get go to sleep, but I probably will for 2-3 hours!! ;). And I DO NOT want to miss my flight home. I have missed Sophie more than I can say. I just cannot wait to see her smile. We asked her tonight if she was ready to be a big sister. She replied quite enthusiastically, "I am!" It will be so good to have both my children together.

Please remember us in you prayers for a safe and uneventful trip home.

Just a little side note - Last night we got out and walked around on Arbat Street. I was looking at some postcards outside a small shop when I heard, "Are you Carrie?" It was Susan, Randy, their son Artem, and Susan's mother in law. I have been reading her blog for the last few weeks and they were out and about in Moscow too.

I'll be praying that you both are ready to go when the taxi comes to pick you up! Don't know if I'll be able to meet you in Nashville, but I would SOOO love to do so!!! I'm so happy and excited for you both to finally get to bring Sam home! It has been a long road, but you both know that God is faithful!!! Be sure to post some pics of Sam and Sophie so we all can enjoy them from Lebanon! I love you all (4) and miss our talks! LeAnn B.

Hi guys,

I love the picture of you in Red Square. It reminds me of the photo you had with Sophie not too long ago.

I completely understand what you said about having both children with you. During Sara's adoption my heart ached to get back to Wyatt and have both children in my arms. It will be here before you know it.

I can't wait to see Sophie reunited with you guys and see her meet Sam. I'll be sure and bring tissues to the airport as I'm sure I will be a big waterfall.

Have a safe trip home!!!

I will also pray that Sam sleeps like Finley on the flight home (all but two hours) as opposed to like John (only 37 minutes. I timed it. As did all the other passengers.) See you tomorrow night!!!!!!
