Where to Start??

So we leave in 4 days. I still nesting/cleaning and I told Scott I would be packed by Thursday. Even though I have done this before the thought of packing sends me into a complete anxiety attack. What if I don't remember something or what if I over pack? What should I put in my carry on luggage? Wait I also have to pack for Sophie's trip to Grammy and Pa's. UGH! I am also trying to scrapbook so I won't be so far behind when I start scrapbooking for 2. Really do I have time for this? It will be here when I get back. I really need to get busy but I am posting on my blog because that seems like the most logically place to start. Then I might clean, pack, or scrapbook. Wish me luck!!!

I am over the moon with excitement for you, hon!!!!!!! I remember well, the stress and excitement of getting ready to bring home our babies! Don't worry, you will remember to pack the important stuff...and what you don't, you can buy in Russia! Hang in there, and know that there are tons and tons of prayers coming your way!!!!!

Hugs,
Kerry

Just start at the very beginning, a very good place to start. When you read, you begin with ABC, when you sing you begin with Do Re Mi...sorry for the sarcasm but this song immediately popped into my head:) I am so excited for you guys and your big trip. You will be just fine and back with Sam in no time!

I think blogging is the best place to start. Next, you should go to Starbucks for a latte and ponder your packing strategy. Then you should check your blog. Find your suitcases next. Read your friends' blogs. Organize tiny toiletries into quart size bags. Read strangers' blogs. You probably need more coffee now, so take a break for a Starbucks run. Check weather reports online to know which clothes to pack. Hey, since you're already online, update your blog. Next, pack all of your clothes, because everyone knows you can't trust weather forecasts. Check your blog. Congrats! You are now ready to travel!

Carrie, deep breaths!

As far as carry on, documents and court clothes. We each carried a back pack with our own clothes for court. Then Bill had the portable DVD player in his, and I had documents in mine.

One backpack was then folded and packed in a suitcase, and the other one became Nick's diaper back for the rest of the trip.

You have my number. I am here for you!

I should have said before now how excited I am for you. I'm sure Jennifer will keep me "in the know" because she is the biggest gossip! (I only say that in hopes she'll read it and call me). In all sincerity, I think of your family often and wish you a safe trip, a happy reunion and a wonderful adventure. It takes a type of special courage to take this journey on and complete it. Thanks for the inspiration.

I am just getting caught up on my blog reading since going back to work, so I just now saw your WONDERFUL news. I am so happy for you and will keep you in my prayers. I can't wait to see pictures of little Sam and you together. My advice for packing--only take 1/2 of what you think you need. We waaaay overpacked and toting all that luggage around + the baby was an ordeal, so only take the bare necessities. Good luck and try to enjoy every step of the way!!

Carrie-

Just wondering what travel agency you are using for flights and apartment accomodations? Do you know the name of the apartment? You can e-mail me privately if you want at thehorners@cox.net. I am so excited for you!!! Please update the blog so we can hear about the journey! I am especially interested in what questions you have in court and how you answer them given the recent deaths of adopted children in the US. Thanks!

It will be fiiiine...remember you can buy a ton of stuff there if you need to - for him. Don't overpack. I did, so I speak from experience.

And if I find out that you actually were able to scrapbook with more than one child I will kick you in the knee. Fin and John don't have the BEGINNINGS of a scrapbook and I haven't had painted nails since...well, since!!!
