Yesterday - you know that day when things were going so well - well, not so much today. I can't say it was a terrible day but it was tougher than yesterday.
It started out calm enough. That was until Sam, Sophie, and myself were in his room putting away clothes. Sophie was spinning in his rocking chair and this is how the conversation went.
Me - Sophie get out of Sam's chair. It is scooting on the hardwood floor.
Sophie - Ok Mommy.
A few minutes later :
Sophie tauntingly - Look Mommy I am back in Sam's rocker.
Me - Sophie get out of Sam's chair and you are going to time out for not minding me.
Sophie - Then I will just kick you.
And this was just the beginning.
Sam has thrown about 17 fits mainly because I won't let him play with my cell phone or the remote control, he has bit Sophie, he has fallen down the steps (he is fine - he laughed instead of crying), and his nap was only 1 hour and 30 minutes.
And on top of all that Sophie has 2 new imaginary friends, Mitzi and her brother Console. As if keeping up the Doe Doe, Cee Cee, Cardboard, and Sherman was not confusing enough now there are more. I thought once Sam came home she would not need imaginary friends anymore.
Things are fine now. Scott stopped at Chik-fil-A and got me an Oreo shake. YUM!!!

Whew - "Calgon take me away!" is what I would be saying if I were you. Just kidding. Good - stick to your guns on keeping consistent with discipline and roll with the punches on the rest. Too many cliches in these comments, huh?
Congratulations on making it home with Sam! Both of your kids are precious! I hope today went better!
GOOD JOB SCOTT!!!
Hang in there Carrie!
there is something about sibling rivalry- gotta love it. It started early in our house. Lots of competition and poor Gray doesn't even get that he is part of the race yet. It will be better, but you are in the beginning of the adjustment phase.
Ahhh, the joy of siblings! it won't be long before Sam is big enough to play, and Sophie will be having a ball with him. Of course, they'll be fighting too, but with a bit of pleasantness in between!:)
Hang in there!

I. Warned. You.
And I will also tell you that what you told about would be a MILD day in the C household.
It's got to be the age...Claire had me almost in tears at the grocery store today. All I wanted to get was some bread and it turned into a big tantrum! Just know that you're not alone in the '17 fits a day' routine!! Deep breaths, deep breaths...
