First Word

Sam said his first word today. He has been saying syllables from the very beginning. He has even said something close to Momma and Daddy; however today it was an actual word in the proper context.

He looked at the lady at the pharmacy today waved and said, "Bye Bye".

While I know this may not be the most exciting word to chose to say, I was thrilled and he was very proud of himself.

It is so much fun to watch this new world through his little eyes. He has already come so far and we have only had him for 2 weeks. He behavior has led me to believe that he is becoming more and more comfortable and confident. This afternoon we met some friends at the church playground. At first he did not want to get off my hip. Then he discovered the slide. He loved it. He just laid down and slid. Then the giggles ensued. I don't know how many times he did this.

Sophie is also doing a little better in her new role as big sister. She came into the bathroom tonight while I was giving Sam his bath and she praised him for being a big boy and sitting (instead of the usual standing) in the tub. She was smiling from ear to ear.
